In 2011, Flip Colmer made a phone call that would mark the beginning of fulfilling Project Recover's vision to provide unique learning opportunities to committed students.
Shortly after he returned from a mission to Palau in 2011, Flip read an article about the
Stockbridge High School Underwater Robotics Team. They had recently won a Great Lakes Regional ROV Competition and were on their way to compete at Marine Advanced Technology
Education International ROV Competition at NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Lab.
Blurry-eyed from days of travel and a 13-hour time difference, Flip leaped off the couch and called the superintendent of the Stockbridge School District.
