Nearly a decade ago, Project Recover was catapulted from searching almost 400 square meters a day to searching more than 4,000,000 square meters of ocean floor in a single day.

 

It was a dramatic transformation.

 

"That's like going from riding a horse to flying a jet in terms of the extent of area we can cover," Pat Scannon said at the time.

 

 

What was behind our dramatic transformation?

 

 

Mark Moline, director of the University of Delaware's School of Marine Science and Policy, and Eric Terrill, director of the Coastal Observing Research and Development Center at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, joined Pat Scannon, founder of The BentProp Project, to form Project Recover.

 

Mark and Eric brought leading edge marine technology that was a game-changer in the search for MIAs.
