It is our privilege to shine our MIA Spotlight on 1st Lt. Robert N. Gage. Lt. Gage was a 26 year old B-24 pilot who was shot down after flying a previously unheard of 17.5 hours to complete a bombing run on Balikpapan oil refineries on the island of Borneo.

 

"It is doubtful that a more dangerous, grueling, and heart-breaking mission has ever been performed in any theater of war." (1st Lt. John H. Bennett, 1944)

 

 

Bob Crager, Lt. Gage's son, made a generous donation to Project Recover in his father's honor.
