The joy from the recent announcement of LT Jay Manown Jr.'s repatriation only increases our motivation to jump into current and upcoming missions. Read below to learn how you can help us bring home another
MIA service member by joining or sharing information about our Mission Miles event. We also share our latest mission updates, national television coverage, and July's tributes.
MISSION MILES - HELP US DO MORE!
Today, Wednesday, 8/14 is the
last day of $50 registration for our annual virtual event, Mission Miles. Tell your friends and sign up now! Join fellow Americans, MIA Gold Star Family members, veterans, and active-duty military across the country to bring recognition to
America's missing-in-action service members and their families. You can be a part of our mission by joining or donating to
Mission Miles 2024. Please help us continue the citizen-led effort to search for and bring home America's MIAs. They answered the call for us and paid with their lives. The least we could do is now answer the call to do all we can to find and bring them home. The Project Recover team is honored and humbled to represent all Americans who believe the same. Our work is a unique, living memorial that preserves the memory of our MIAs while honoring and respecting their legacy.
All finishers will receive a Project Recover Mission Miles finishers bandana. Other swag can be earned through fundraising. Join the Mission Miles 2024 team
today!
(L to R) Drew Pietruszka, Ph.D., Colin Colbourn, Ph.D., Mark Moline, Ph.D., and Josh Gates on Expedition Unknown's "America's MIA Heroines." Did you see Expedition Unknown's "America's MIA Heroines?" If not, it will be replayed on Saturday, 8/31, and Sunday, 9/1 (It can be streamed on Max and purchased through YouTube as well!). Josh Gates joined our team in West Africa to search for a missing C-47 USAAF transport plane associated with 21 missing-in-action service members, 18 of them from the Women's Army Corps. The episode was incredibly informative and moving. We (spoiler
alert) haven't found the plane yet, but we often don't find what we are looking for on the first search mission. The search will continue, and we'll keep you informed of any developments. Next, we're executing two concurrent missions in partnership with DPAA and Legion Undersea Services in the island nation of Palau. As those missions get underway, we'd like to share a blog post written by Team Member Hanna Friedlander, who graciously took the time to share her thoughts with us following her first Project Recover mission in March 2023.
